Unveiling the Writer
My name is Shay Visser, I am a twenty-one-year-old journalist from Kommetjie, Cape Town. I published my first article when I was 17 in the local newspaper The False Bay Echo. Since then, I have moved on to become a student at Rhodes University, pursuing a double major in Journalism and Politics and International Studies.

SHADOWED AT LOCAL NEWSPAPER
Job-shadowed at the local newspaper the False Bay Echo in 2016 for a week (Articles were published during job-shadow. See Achievements for further details.)
ASSISTANT TO PHOTOGRAPHER
Assistant to Photographer from 2015-2017. Shot various photo shoots including new-born and family shoots
MEDIA LIAISON
Offered a Media Liaison job for an NGO called HEEPD which entailed writing press releases and articles. Project did not proceed, articles were not published.
SHADOWED AT EWN RADIO
Interned at Eye Witness News at the Cape Talk Radio station in Cape Town, during which I wrote three articles, and news edited stories that were read on air.
WRITER, EDITOR AND DESIGNER
Was the Editor, Writer and Designer of a student magazine called “The MAP Rhodes”.
